Performs general maintenance work to ensure NeueHouse facility maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained for NeueHouse's multiple member, event and staff spaces, adjacent walkways and grounds. Keeps all FF&E in an orderly/functional condition. Provides assistance to all NeueHouse staff, visitors, outside clients and vendors.

Essential Duties:
  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement
  • Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, fluorescent lighting, and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures
  • Performs preventive building maintenance duties: caulks windows and doors, general repairs, painting, replacement of broken windows, repairs and replaces door knobs, door locks, door closures, patches holes in walls
  • Assembles and moves furniture, hangs artwork, pictures or displays, bulletin boards, installs studio name decals, move and set-up/breakdown of tables, chairs and other office furniture for special events
  • Assist with exiting and new member move-ins, move-outs and move-arounds
  • Ability to build furniture for member use
  • Install and uninstall partitions for Studios / Ateliers as needed
  • HVAC maintenance, swap out filters, cleaning of coils, and check drainage
  • Change CO2 tanks and filters per floor as needed
  • Ensure all fire extinguishers are fully charged and in optimal operating conditions as well as ensuring all emergency exit lighting is in excellent working condition
  • Monitor room temperature controls for all building floors
  • Assist with the collection of trash / recyclables from facility and ensure trash containers/bins are clean, sanitized, and functional
  • Assist in the purchase or duplication of hard keys as they relate to doors, filing cabinets, storage bins and other lockable office furniture / equipment

QUALITIES & SKILLS
  • Knowledge of all related maintenance trades including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry
  • Skill in the use of basic hand and electric tools and familiarity with parts and materials.
  • Must be enthusiastic, hands-on, and energetic
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to listen effectively, speak, read, and write English clearly
  • Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, reach over-head, squat and kneel, position requires constant motion
  • Move, lift, carry and push items weighing up to 50-100lbs without assistance

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or Higher
  • At least 2 years' experience in related fields
  • Prior maintenance experience in a hospitality related industry and/or relevant technical training
