Manager, Training & Communications

Overview

To plan, direct, and manage the functions of a multi-location full spectrum training operation. To ensure that diverse and complex business initiatives are carried out by a skilled and capable workforce. Use industry recognized best practices to evaluate, analyze, and adjust training in order to maximize impact on business results. Ensure training is in full compliance with all applicable statutory requirements and Navy Federal policies, procedures, rules, regulations and values. To support business division's senior management in developing and executing strategic plans.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee branch strategy, establish priorities and set goals; evaluate and implement standards to ensure alignment with department/organizational objectives
  • Influence the development of Department objectives and long range goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop training strategies, tactics and learning solutions that support company wide and business unit objectives
  • Align branch strategic plan and initiatives with corporate strategy and strategic plans
  • Collaborate with counterparts internal and external to Navy Federal to incorporate and leverage best practices and training methodologies, technologies, adult learning principles, program content, design, delivery and modality Broad latitude
  • Manage communication functions per department guidelines Oversee/direct
  • Serve as consultant to management in analyzing training programs and establishing standards
  • Involved in driving continuous process improvement to increase member experience quality; reduce losses; minimize financial risk and maintain high operational efficiency Oversee/direct
  • Provide overall leadership to large strategic projects or programs Considerable impact
  • Serve as point of contact for responding to escalated inquiries from staff and management Most complex/Unusual
  • Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines across a broad variety of product categories and audiences Oversee/direct
  • Act as an advocate and spokesperson for training to upper management, across the organization and through professional networks
  • Develop critical relationships with key technical/non-technical stakeholders to gain concurrence, input, execution and change management decisions Broad scope

    • Significant experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
    • Extensive experience working with cross-functional teams and leading projects
    • Advanced skill in building strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership
    • Advanced skill in results-oriented leadership in a challenging environment
    • Advanced skill resolving conflicting requests and meeting changing requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Training and Development, adult education, Instructional Technology or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

    Desired Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in Training and Development, adult education, Instructional Technology or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • Experience with 3rd party risk management and/or vendor management
    • Working knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives
    • Working knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products and services
    • Effective knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools and resources
    • Experience in budget forecasting and cost benefit analysis

    Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
