Senior Software Engineer - Localisation

As a Senior Software Engineer - Localisation, you will be responsible for co-owning and developing Localisation automations and integrations with the Manager for Product Localisation. You will create, review, and develop internationalisation frameworks for Navan products on web and mobile platforms, and will own the documentation and onboarding steps around this topic for new (and existing!) Software Developers at Navan.
The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, as well as experience in working in the Localisation industry (either in an agency or in-house, both preferable). Experience and interest in the Travel and/or FinTech industry is a plus.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement APIs, tools, and scripts for Localisation workflows and processes
- Design and maintain a robust and scalable i18n framework for Navan products. This may include, but not be limited to: front-end processes, back-end processes, support for mobile teams, QA workflows, MT-PE and AI-supported Localisation flows, and more.
- Work closely with the Manager of Product Localisation to optimise existing Localisation processes and workflows from a technical perspective.
- Assist the different Engineering teams in understanding and adopting new localisation-specific technologies and processes. You will own the onboarding and documentation for all i18n-related topics.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers.
- Influence dependent and adjacent Engineering teams’ roadmaps and priorities to include i18n.

- Strong programming skills and CS fundamentals combined with 2+ years of experience in the Localisation industry. Alternatively: proved experience in programming (5+ years) with proficient knowledge in localisation processes, internationalisation, globalisation, an/or international content management.
- Deep architecture and API design skills
- Strong sense of ownership demonstrated through shipping ready-to-use integrations and solutions.
- Passion for solving problems and learning new tools and technologies
- Excellent communication skills working with stakeholders and domain experts across the company to design solutions to user problems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience working at startups and/or on consumer-facing products
- Experience with Lokalise or other TMSs and CMSs is a plus.
- Experience with TM management tools and processes is a plus.
- Languages and linguistics knowledge is a plus.
