  • This role is compensation grade H3. If not located near a Nationwide office in the following locations (Columbus, OH, Scottsdale, AZ, or Louisville, KY) a remote location may be considered.
  • This is a highly visible, Senior level role for an experienced Digital Marketer.
  • Lead a strategic digital marketing program that surrounds financial professionals with digital tactics that connect to the sales process for business outcomes.
  • Lead projects across business, marketing and IT teams that keep our coordinated Marketing and Sales program on the cutting edge.
  • Define and implement measurable KPIs for marketing campaigns with marketing and business teams, iterating and optimizing on an ongoing basis
  • Partner closely with product marketing, marketing execution and marketing operations teams to ensure proper messaging, timing, and execution of one-off and ongoing campaigns.
  • Understand different Nationwide audiences at scale, be able to make common sense segmentations, and run iterative tests
  • Customize storytelling to internal audiences to scale personalized marketing technology and digital marketing tactics for product marketing teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new tactics for each stage of the customer journey
  • Measure tests, document and socialize findings, and develop next steps toward sustained long term results.

As a Senior Consultant, you'll lead the development and execution of marketing strategies using highly advanced marketing principles. You will execute on future business or marketing needs driven by quantitative data/research, competitive insights and/or consumer behaviors. Additionally, we'll count on you to ensure a strong focus on end-to-end customer experience, delivering exceptional customer experience overall.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business. Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions.

  • Leads sophisticated projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.

  • Implements digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning, and execution.

  • Leads creative development and provides specific feedback on look and feel and develops strong creative briefs.

  • Monitors emerging innovative trends in content, design and marketing tactics

  • Reviews and analyzes customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and forecast market, competitor and customer needs and behavior. Helps to define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.

  • Ensures programs are on strategy and on schedule.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Associate Vice President/Vice President. This is an individual contributor and may manage a team based on organizational structure; may also lead virtual and project teams.

Typical Skills and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field; graduate degree highly desirable.

License/Certification/Designation: Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus. Additional licensing may be required to hold this position and associates will need to acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the designated time period. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.

Experience: Typically, 10 or more years related professional experience in marketing, field sales management, insurance or related field. Master’s degree may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirements as appropriate. Prior marketing development and project leadership exposure/experience preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of marketing methodologies, insurance and/or financial services products including regulatory environment, distribution systems, and customers preferred. Knowledge of product distribution methods. Ability to develop and review research studies, communicate research findings, market recommendations based on findings, develop and negotiate contracts/service agreements with internal/external contacts, and lead multiple projects planning projects. Ability to function independently or in a team environment. Demonstrates core marketing proficiencies, including strategy development, utilization of insights and analytics, building brand equity and developing effective marketing communications. Command of and ability to understand and deliver customer focus, operating capabilities, and strategic capabilities.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Ability to work extended and/or non standard hours based on project load. Travel as required.
