The E&S/Specialty Data Analytics team works with all areas of Nationwide’s E&S/S business to deliver solutions. We perform complex statistical analysis to determine pricing and market segmentation opportunities needed to create business strategies for our Pricing and Underwriting teams. We work closely with our business partners, so strong social and communication skills and a displayed passion for research and data analytics are vital to our success.
Job Summary:
Interns will make meaningful contributions to the team by working on a variety of analytical tasks including predictive modeling, data analytics, building code templates, impact calculations, and meetings with business partners. They will support the team and participate in all phases of the analytic lifecycle, from research design, data collection and data processing to model building, deployment and presentation of results. Interns will also be provided with educational sessions, exposure to all aspects of E&S/Specialty data and analytics work, and networking and team-building opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Prefer some experience or course work in data analysis, programming in SQI, Python, R, SAS, machine learning, data modeling and mining.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
