Software Asset Management will be involved in the management of software compliance, life cycle planning and reporting.
 

Specifically, you will:

  • Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.
  • Strategically align the Hardware and Software roadmaps through daily BAU, weekly/monthly/yearly reporting, and vendor relationships.
  • Mitigating/reducing risk for the organization while partnering with the combined Hardware and Software Sourcing and Nationwide Technology Infrastructure & Operations teams.
  • Assist in the development of reporting to address management requirements to obtain information.
  • Collect information for software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.
  • Enter and maintain information in a database format to address software compliance & inventory, contracts, and cost.
  • Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Software Asset Management data information.

Role Essentials:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Business, Finance or a related field

  • 7+ years of business analysis/requirements gathering experience
  • 3-5 years of asset management experience, including IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experience
  • Ability to navigate the ServiceNow application; ServiceNow Catalog, CMDB, Vendor Portals, SCCM, Aternity, SAM Pro and HAM Pro
  • Ability to interpret contracts for a wide variety of vendors, and associated solutions (Mainframe, Distributed, Endpoint, On Prem, SAAS, Cloud, …)
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience interpreting licensing terms and conditions
  • Proven researching ability
  • Experience with reporting creation and interpretation using tools like Access or other database management tools, Excel, Tableau, etc.
  • IAITAM certification preferred
  • Align IT resources and processes in order to meet the organization’s needs, as well as the design of enterprise solutions.

As a Consultant, you'll be a Strategic Sourcing advisor/partner to business units or functions, delivering to deliver strategic sourcing projects that realize maximum long-term value. We'll count on you to develop, plan and execute disciplined sourcing strategy of moderate complexity to achieve business objectives while managing expenses within a designated domain(category).

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with business units to ensure alignment with business unit and sourcing strategy objectives. Understand business unit budget for coming year to make the most of the opportunities.

  • Develops, plans and implements moderately complex sourcing strategies by partnering with the business unit to define desired outcomes, conducting internal and industry analysis, identifying cost reduction opportunities, exploring alternatives and assessing impact of alternatives.

  • Defines and uses the optimal sourcing solution using business unit requirements, funding, suppliers and industry knowledge.

  • Creates the best contractual outcome for moderately complex sourcing solutions including optimal negotiations, strong legal and business terms, and meaningful key performance indicators and service level agreements. Develops drafts, negotiates, finalizes and advises on moderately complex contract documents using governance guidelines.

  • Develop supplier relationships to drive efficiency and value against planned strategies by facilitating supplier reviews and generating continuous improvement ideas. Resolves contractual discrepancies as they occur.

  • Analyzes and interprets category metrics and finds opportunities to ensure category performance. Manages compliance to contractual terms.

  • Leads the development and implementation of moderately complex policies, procedures and objectives for sourcing goods and services for a business unit.

  • Builds annual sourcing plans.

  • Facilitates and coordinates all activities associated with the execution of the established sourcing process including, but not limited to, the preparation and delivery for each project summary/business case according to the purchasing approval policy to all levels of the organization.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director; Individual contributor but serves in project lead capacity.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree required. Degree in sourcing, business or related fields preferred.

Experience: Six to eight years of business experience in all aspects of sourcing processes including relationship management.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Highly specialized knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of supply chain management or other related industry. In-depth knowledge of the legal environment to analyze impact of major/complex initiatives on the company. In-depth understanding of the Enterprise structure and business objectives. Must be knowledgeable in financial controls, insurance business concepts, systems and data processing concepts, and financial planning/analysis.

Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interact and collaborate with all levels in the business units as well as external suppliers. Ability to display confidence and establish credibility. Ability to consult and negotiate moderately complex business solutions which include, contracts, fee schedules, legal terms and conditions and service level agreements. Advanced skills in mathematical, financial or statistical concepts to manage all aspects of financial planning and analysis as well as supply management processes. Advanced analytical and business savvy to develop, recommend, and/or implement sourcing strategies and expense reduction methods.

Ability to interpret moderately complex legal documents and contracts. Ability to present material and information to a variety of audiences. Ability to stay abreast of current industry and business unit trends or developments within sourcing. Ability to work independently and exercise judgment with little direction or guidance. Ability to identify potential issues, gaps and risks not otherwise identified, assess the magnitude of such exposure, consider alternatives and recommend resolutions. Ability to work with confidential information.
