Data Science Team Lead

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly analytical, data obsessed Data Science Team Lead to join our growing company. The ideal candidate will work cross functionally to develop, maintain and implement predictive models that will provide actionable insights to inform key business decisions.

What You Will Do: 

• Lead and Mentor: Guide a team of data scientists/analysts while also contributing individually to the development, maintenance, and improvement of data models and analyses
• Strategic Insight: Utilize data analytics to inform and iterate on new product features, business strategies, and to define and implement key metrics such as client usage, retention, churn and others
• Data Engineering: Spearhead the development of data pipelines and the deployment of scalable analyses, metrics and models, ensuring they are integrated effectively within our product ecosystem
• Statistical Modeling and Analysis: Drive business objectives through sophisticated data/statistical modeling, predicting major KPIs such as churn, retention and LTV. Design, implement and maintain the models to automate and optimize various aspects of our operations
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to align data science projects with business goals, ensuring seamless communication and integration of data insights
• Reporting and Visualization: Build and automate comprehensive reports, develop and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, leveraging BI platforms (we use Looker) for clear data visualization

What We're Looking For:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, data science, engineering or a closely related field
• Professional Experience: 4+ years as a Data Scientist or similar Product Analytics role involving data extraction, analysis, and statistical modeling 
• Technical Proficiency:Demonstrated expertise in Python, SQL, Git, and common Data Science and Machine Learning libraries
• Leadership and Communication: Exceptional problem solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to lead a team, mentor individuals, and communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership

This role offers a hybrid work environment and would require candidates to commute into our NYC headquarters 2-3 times per week. 

Salary Range: $160,000-$180,000 base salary + equity & benefits. The base pay is one component of Nanit's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
