Daily responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the management of a loan portfolio of corporate clients.
  • Monitor assigned credits; stay current on company and industry issues; complete regularly scheduled reviews and determine accurate ratings.
  • Evaluate credit opportunities. Prepare detailed credit analysis and credit approval memos taking in to consideration industry, business, legal and financial risks, and make recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate and communicate critical account information independently and directly to various related parties including the business line, product groups and credit divisions.
  • Participate in special assignments and projects as required.
  • Work with the business line to identify and mitigate structural and other risks in prospective transactions.
  • Advise the Business Line on credit risk issues/terms and conditions to create the best possible transaction, focusing on the risk/return dynamic and on minimizing potential credit costs.
  • Ensure compliance with external regulatory/internal policy and procedural requirements
  • Participate in ad-hoc policy meetings to enhance organization wide credit risk framework.

Experience/Abilities: (Detail years of work experience required and any specific skills, special aptitudes or knowledge)

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in a financial institution in a credit underwriting or credit risk function; Extensive knowledge of general corporate credit analysis, credit and risk management
  • In depth knowledge of loan structures, loan documentation and analyzing corporate credits.
  • Experience in underwriting and monitoring corporate loans,
  • Understanding of the issues related to the regulatory environment (FRB, OCC, FDIC).
  • Comfortable with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are critical.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $140K - $160K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
