Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management Office - Director

As part of the Chief Strategy Office (CSO), the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) enables portfolio management through a series of capabilities, processes, procedures and centralized governance across programs, projects, and operational change. The EPMO engages with all Lines of Business and legal entities to govern and manage the MUFG enterprise portfolio of change initiatives.

Job Summary:

The Head of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for ensuring MUFG has consistent and effective change management processes, procedures and tools to clearly establish:

  • An enterprise-wide framework that enables prioritization of opportunities across multiple lines of business and corporate functions
  • Minimum standards for information related to project planning, execution, issue escalation, reporting, and lessons learned (when applicable), at the enterprise level and within individual lines of business
  • A platform of tools that support automation and information management associated with change management framework and related processes
  • Comprehensive, risk-based board and executive management reporting on enterprise program/project initiatives and operational changes
  • Control testing and reporting to monitor adherence to processes, procedures and controls

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of about 20 professional to execute on the mission of the EPMO
  • Partner with Line of Business Leadership and their PMOs to implement and maintain requirements of the change management framework
  • Establish strong relationships with Business Risk & Control offices, Risk Management and Internal Audit
  • Partner with the Chief Strategy Office to ensure the change portfolio aligns to strategic objectives, course correcting as needed
  • Stay abreast of developments in the industry as it relates to Change Management and serve as SME for MUFG
  • Set strategic direction for the continued evolution of the EPMO function
  • Partner with Line of Business, Finance, Resource Management, and other PMO functions to effectively execute reporting processes
  • Deliver Portfolio reporting to the appropriate committees, ensuring transparency into portfolio health and outcome / benefits
  • Establish and maintain appropriate control testing and reporting to monitor adherence to processes, procedures and controls
  • Set strategy and deliver technology solutions to support EPMO business requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree desirable
  • Minimum 10-15 years' experience in financial services; transformation and/or organizational development experience preferred.
  • Strong management and leadership skill
  • Ability to interact with C-suite leaders to drive enterprise strategy and consensus.
  • Proven ability to drive change across lines of business, corporate functions, and stakeholder groups at the leadership level in complex organization
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate complex issues and ideas succinctly and with clarity
  • Ability to holistically problem solve and "drive to yes" by clearly defining goals, connections, and interdependencies.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, including experience building complex business cases, gathering and analyzing data, modeling financials, and making data-based decisions

The typical base pay range for this role is between $200K - $225K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
