About the job

As an Engineering Manager at mParticle, you will be working in a highly visible and evolving space, on a team that aims to deliver significant business impact. You will partner closely with product leadership to rapidly extend the mParticle platform for our customers' most acute needs and opportunities. You will also be setting the technical direction for the team of talented engineers that likes to ship code and tackle hard engineering problems. You will look to find the right tradeoff between platforms and product work, and communicate your strategy transparently to the teams and to the leadership.  If you enjoy working in a highly visible, customer-focused area - this is the role for you.

About the Candidate

The Successful candidate will:

  • Lead a team of talented engineers who like to ship code and tackle hard engineering problems
  • Build and execute a technical roadmap of systems improvements
  • Be the cross-functional face of your team to stakeholders across Product, Customer Support, and more.
  • Set clear expectations for all team members, hold them accountable to agreed-upon goals, and guide how it maps to their work
  • Use metrics to communicate results, make decisions, and adjust the team’s strategy.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • 8+ years of industry experience, preferably building, maintaining, and managing platforms, APIs, and infrastructure
  • Recent experience as a developer - this role involves designing and shipping code yourself as well as leading others
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams
  • Strong experience in architecting and delivering scalable solutions using cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, Azure and likely Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation
  • You're highly technical, enough to solve many problems your team has yourself, but you prefer to guide your team into solving them.
  • You're high-agency, self-directed, detail-oriented, and reliable.

Perks & Benefits

• We offer a holistic benefits package that includes comprehensive health care coverage, encompassing medical, dental, and vision, fully covered by the company for employees enrolled in our baseline plan. Additionally, we extend cost-effective sharing options for dependents, ensuring accessibility to necessary care for you and your loved ones while maintaining affordability for all. Our commitment to well-being also includes Mental health resources through Modern Health and pet insurance for our furry friends.
  • A truly adaptable work setting with flexible time off, 11 paid company holidays, and quarterly mental health reboot days in a 100% remote environment.
  • An ownership culture where individuals receive stock options and can fully participate in mParticle’s success.
  • 100% fully paid parental leave for all employees (12 weeks for the birth-parent & 6 weeks for the non-birth parent) and real encouragement to take that time to bond as a family
  • Learning & Development yearly allowance for ongoing learning opportunities for employees
  • Remote work allowance to ensure you’re fully set up for success

The Canadian base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 - $260,000 ($CAD) based on location and level of experience + equity + benefits.
