About Morgan Stanley at Work Morgan Stanley at Work is a division of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management that provides workplace financial solutions via the Solium Shareworks platform, that build confidence, foster loyalty, and help our clients attract and retain top talent.Morgan Stanley at Work's Australian business has been acquired by BoardRoom Australia, part of the BoardRoom group that provides Share Registry, ESP, Corporate Secretarial and Payroll services.This position will be part of the transition to BoardRoom Australia maintaining commitment and continuity in service to the existing client base of Morgan Stanley At Work and Solium trustee clients.Trust Accountant, Role Description. The Trust Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation of the Trust accounts for all Solium Trustee clients. Given the nature of the role it will also be required for the Trust Accountant to collaborate with other internal stakeholders. This role has responsibilities which cover the financial functions, bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements for Trustee Services. Trustee Services: Responsibilities • Collation and preparation of reports for the trust account processing using Shareworks. • End of month trust accounting and bookkeeping for clients using Xero. • Reconciliation of Share Plan Trust activities across Solium's Trustee Services • Preparation of Share Plan Trust registration with the ABR/ATO for new Solium's Trustee clients. • Preparation of Special Purpose Financial Statements for Solium Trustee clients when required. • Preparation of annual client reporting packs. • Preparation of Tax Returns supporting documentation for Solium Trustee clients when required. • Co-ordinating any tax compliance payments with internal Settlements team • Monitoring the Share Plan Trust and looking out for favourable. outcome/interest for the client - i.e. cost/tax effective. • Prepare for audits and ensuring compliance requirements are met • Prepare cash flow reports. • Setting up new client files and tracking the various components of the trust onboarding processes. • Managing multiple financial and tax reporting deadlines.Qualifications • 3-5 year's accounting experience - trust accounting would be advantageous.• An understanding of Employee Share Trusts along with associated Tax and Financial Reporting principles would be ideal but not essential.• Excellent communication skills.• Experience with preparing Special Purpose Financial Statements and Tax Returns.• Understanding and ability to comply with all relevant Acts & Legislations• A can-do attitude and willingness to work autonomously and as a part of a team.• Good with numbers, time management and attention to detail.• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.• Experience with Xero would be beneficial.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
