Software Engineer in Test

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Software Engineer in Test.

Listed Sales and Trading is a growing front-office IT team building proprietary global sales and trading applications. Our applications are multi-asset class, focusing on Equities, Listed Derivatives, Fixed Income and Commodities. The QA Team within LST provides essential regulatory validation of changes to our trading systems and provides an exciting opportunity to span business and technical domains.

This is a Software Engineer in Test position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for devising test strategies, conducting and/or coordinating tests, and identifying defects to maintain high standards of performance and reliability.

This is an Automation Developer role within our server-side automation team focusing on the authoring of automated tests that cover our Front Office Sales and Trading systems. The role will combine technical responsibilities for authoring and maintenance of an automated regression suite and working within the global development team to understand the requirements of the Front Office systems across multiple asset classes.

Our Automation framework is primarily Python based, experience with that language would be an advantage but any comparable SDET experience using other languages would be acceptable. Experience testing finance systems, either using FIX/SOAP, would be very relevant. This role represents an excellent opportunity to learn an exciting and complex business area under the Institutional Securities & Technology Division.

What you'll do in the role:

- Authoring new Automated Test Cases using our existing Python based Test Framework
- Analysis and review of changes to our Trading Systems
- Development of our Python Test Framework to add new capabilities and support new business requirements
- Work with Agile Squads globally to understand their upcoming requirements and business deliverables

What you'll bring to the role:

- Strong knowledge of Python or proven development ability in similar SDET role
- Basic knowledge of FIX/SOAP protocols
- Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Must be familiar with code management tools such as git/stash
- Strong analytical capability and problem-solving skills.

Skills Desired

- Knowledge of Front Office Trading systems
- Agile software development experience, preferably Scrum
