Profile DescriptionWe're seeking someone to join our team as (Associate) Snowflake Cloud Support Administrator to support the administration, optimization, and governance of our Snowflake Data Platform, helping ensure its secure, cost efficient and high performing In this position, you will be working with azure team, engineer team, SF vendor, and our Morgan Stanley internal application teams to provide client engagement service support.Enterprise TechnologyEnterprise Technology & Services (ETS) delivers shared technology services for Morgan Stanley supporting all business applications and end users. ETS provides capabilities for all stages of Morgan Stanley's software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications. ETS also delivers all workplace technologies (desktop, mobile, voice, video, productivity, intranet/internet) in integrated configurations that boost the personal productivity of employees. Application and end user functions are delivered on a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure composed of seamlessly integrated datacenter, network, compute, cloud, storage, and database functions.Enterprise Computing (EC)Enterprise Computing is a department of Core Infrastructure that provides a collection of products and services that make up the Morgan Stanley core compute infrastructure, hosting platforms and supporting application services. Solutions are delivered across the infrastructure stack from foundational hardware platforms, storage, server operating systems and virtualization up through the hosting of common web, database, middleware and reporting services.Infrastructure Production Management & Reliability EngineeringThis is Associate position that maintains the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations. Read on...What you'll do in the role:> Administer, monitor, and support Snowflake environments.> Implement security and access controls using roles, users, and RBAC in Snowflake.> Optimize query performance and storage usage; monitor credit consumption and recommend cost-saving strategies.> Manage data sharing, replication, failover, and disaster recovery configurations.> Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data ingestion, permissions, or query performance.> Manage credit consumption and recommend optimizations to control costs.> Create or enhance existing alerts for users on storage, network throttling, failures in infrastructure and develop documentation for users.> Ensure data platform compliance with organizational security and data governance policies.> Work closely with engineering team and the vendor to deliver best Support for the Business Users> Stay current with Snowflake updates, best practices, and new features.What you'll bring to the role:> At least 2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role> 2+ years of experience working with Snowflake, including administration and performance tuning.> Proficiency in SQL and scripting (e.g., Python or Shell).> Experience with data ingestion and ETL/ELT processes.> Experience in working with Snowflake features / capabilities -- Snowpipes , Streams , Replication , Time-Travel ,File Formats etc> Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.> Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.> Demonstrate Strong Skills and operational experience/familiarity with Large Scale Databases, Data Warehouses Environment.> Extensive knowledge and understanding with Large Scale Distributed Database technology Ex: Greenplum /Teradata/Exadata> Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Fivetran, Informatica).> Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.> Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.> Experience with BI or analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).> Good to have working experience with databases Postgres/GreenplumWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
