Senior Python Developer (Hybrid)

We're seeking someone to join our Data Security Tooling team as a Senior Python Developer in Cyber to build a Firmwide Data Security Gateway, an innovative solution that will drive the adoption of advanced data security capabilities across the Firm, and leverage AI-enabled solution to improve the Firm's data security posture.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Software Engineering position at Vice-President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
  • Develop and architect innovative solutions to enhance a high-performance file transfer data gateway
  • Provide technical leadership and vision for software development project roadmap
  • Define technical architecture and roadmap for large-scale, mission-critical systems.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Oversee the execution of software development projects, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
  • Drive projects to optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives.
  • Analyze product performance data to drive continuous improvement.


What you'll bring to the role:

  • At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
  • Strong hands-on experience in building large-scale and high-performance web application using Python
  • Working knowledge of Java and/or C#/.NET is a plus
  • Strong hands-on experience with full-stack web technologies spanning client-side, server-side, and infrastructure components, including web/application servers, load balancing, database, caching strategies, compression, security implementation, and file transfer over web.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and managing file transfer services for large-scale enterprise solutions
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performance engineering teams
  • Ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
  • Strong people management skills and fostering a collaborative team culture is a plus
  • Strategic planning and execution of engineering projects.
