We also offer systematic alpha and alternative strategies to complement clients' core holdings.### ### This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.### ### ABout Team### The Radius Reporting team at Parametric is a brand new and highly visible team:### * ### The primary goal is to develop a resilient and scalable data and reporting platform on AWS Cloud. This platform will utilize the Medallion Architecture to integrate data from diverse internal and external sources, processing, merging, milestone tracking, and certifying the data using technical and business rules. The team will also implement automated and manual workflows to support robust data governance. * ### Creating a high-value platform designed to fulfill multiple needs, including generating standard client reports, and delivering data feeds to partners. * ### The team will design a data lake optimized for report generation, leveraging the AWS Stack and Modern Data Stack technologies. * ### The platform will require scalable and resilient Microservices to validate services and support user interfaces.### ### ### ABOUT THE ROLE### The Senior Software Engineer (Data) will be responsible for the design and development of the firm's new Reporting Data Platform, known as Radius Reporting. This role requires a solid data engineering foundation and an approach to a highly available and event driven system. It also necessitates extensive interaction and communication, potentially across multiple development teams and will help centralize reporting data across the firm.### ### Primary Responsibilities * ### Participate in Agile-based product development. * ### Provide flexible solutions to complex business problems using our technology best practices. * ### Build data pipelines from various sources to produce validated and normalized reporting data. * ### Apply best in class engineering principles, optimized algorithms, and data structure techniques. * ### Create unit/integration/functional tests. * ### Conduct code reviews for other developers. * ### Follow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to our technology when appropriate. * ### Research new cloud apps/open-source technologies and incorporate into existing projects. * ### Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members.### ### Job QUALIFICATIONS### SKILL SET### Required Experience: 7+ years### Skill set: Python / SQL / Spark / AWS S3 / AWS Athena / AWS Glue / AWS Lambda / Delta Lake / Apache Iceberg / dbt / Great Expectations### ### Primary Skills * ### Bachelor's degree in computer science/computer engineering or related field. * ### 7+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience with Python * ### 3+ years' experience in cloud native services development (AWS preferred) * ### Experience with AWS ETL tools like Glue/Athena * ### Experience with Apache Iceberg or Databricks Delta Lake * ### Strong experience with using SQL Databases like PostgreSQL and relational database design. * ### Demonstrated experience with agile or other rapid application development methods. * ### Demonstrated experience with object-oriented design, coding, and testing patterns as well as experience in engineering (commercial or open source) software platforms and data infrastructures. * ### Knowledge of data modeling and understanding of different data structures and their benefits and limitations under particular use cases * ### Effective communication skills with business users and other developers * ### Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex business problems quickly.### ### Good to Have Skills * ### Experience in Financial Services Industry * ### Experience with building Data Lakes, Data Mesh or Data Fabric * ### Experience with Terraform * ### Experience in back-end web development, specifically Micro-services Architecture/Containerization * ### Experience in event-based architectures and messaging platforms like Kafka.### ### Parametric believes that each employee makes a significant contribution to our success.
