Research - Credit Strategist, Associate

Morgan Stanley's North American Fixed Income Research team is looking for an Associate to join the credit strategy team. The role involves forming investment views in the investment grade corporate bond market, building and maintaining analytical models, writing research notes, communicating with institutional investor clients, and performing customized analysis for those clients. The candidate must possess some background in investment grade credit, have some familiarity with debt and issuer structures, strong corporate finance, excel, data management, oral, and written communication skills.Specific Responsibilities: • Cross asset credit market analysis • Fixed-income market analysis • Corporate credit analysis • Research and write reports on investment strategy related to leveraged credit markets • Respond to requests for data, information and calls from internal and external clients • Keep abreast of industry-related news flow • Develop and maintain relationships with institutional investor clients • Regular interaction with fixed-income sales and trading • Understand the nuances of the industrySkills Required: • Proven writing skills • Strong verbal communication skills • Ability to develop analytical frameworks for formulating investment recommendations • Outstanding analytical/financial skills including experience with credit markets • High energy, self-motivated, creative and organized • Strong focus on teamwork • Very strong excel and data management skills • Attention to detail • Ability to multitask and reprioritize a mustQualifications - External• 2+ years work experience in a research, trading, banking, capital markets, or investment capacity in credit markets • Capabilities in bond math and applied statistical methods • Programming skills and some sector knowledge are helpful, but not requiredWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
