Provide technical leadership and vision for software development projects. Define technical architecture and roadmap for large-scale, mission-critical systems. Establish and communicate departmental goals and objectives aligned with business priorities. Lead a team of software engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and budget for software development initiatives. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project success. Oversee the execution of software development projects, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Drive the recruitment and retention of top technical talent for the team. Collaborate with senior leadership to shape technology strategy and roadmap. Represent the software engineering team in cross-functional discussions and planning sessions. You will work as senior application developer on an in-house developed system that manages the life-cycle processing of Asset Servicing events (also known as Corporate Actions). You will be responsible for the hands-on management of all the phases of the Software Development Lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and deployment. You will collaborate with partner teams including Asset Servicing ISG and WM Operations, Client Service Representatives and Application Support Groups. The projects worked on will form part of a multi-year program to renovate the Firm's Global Asset Servicing technology platform. The role will provide exposure to a wide variety of different business units and asset classes within the Institutional Securities Group and Wealth Management divisions.We're looking for a self-starter who is comfortable managing their own and other team member's workload within a collaborative, team driven environment. Hands-on coding experience is essential. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven track record of leading high-performance engineering teams. Strategic planning and execution of engineering projects. Ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives. Strong people management skills and fostering a collaborative team culture. Experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and project governance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlet, JavaScript, AJAX, Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, SQL, DB2, XML, JSON, DHTML, CSS Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required At least 10+ years of hands-on application development and delivery utilizing distributed technologies such as Unix, Java, J2EE Java framework etc. Experience in the development of service-oriented architecture application, good understanding of Object-Oriented Design, Design Patterns and data structure algorithms. Strong knowledge of Java Server Pages (JSP), DHTML and JavaScript Proven technology architecture skills delivery high performance and high transaction volume distributed application Experience with MVC patterned applications using Struts or Spring Experience with writing SQL including stored procedures Experience with Unix Shell and Python Scripting Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments Excellent trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolutions Agile development practice Provide overall project management, local leadership and be a mentor to the staff Effective communication and presentation skills Excellent collaboration and team skills.
