Professional, OTC & FX Settlements : Job Level - Associate
OTC Settlements globally support the settlement functions of Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income Derivatives, Foreign Exchange and Commodity products.
The teams are present in Baltimore, Glasgow, Mumbai and Tokyo/Osaka. In Tokyo/Osaka, the team supports the Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income Derivatives and Equity Derivatives settlement with external Japan clients. We work with various teams within Operations, business counterparts, Treasury, Compliance and IT teams both locally and globally. This role is for hiring in Osaka location.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Develop and maintain client relationships across Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income Derivatives, and Foreign Exchange settlements.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate daily settlement confirmation.
- Resolve and verify post-settlement issues and discrepancies with clients and Sales and Trading desk.
- Collaborate with Operational management, sales and trading desks to diminish risk through escalation and strong communication.
- Develop and improve existing processes and reporting.
- Liaise with teammates and managers daily to provide client service, risk management, and superior Operational controls.
- Work as part of the Global Settlements Team to assist with the development and testing of internal system enhancements and implementation of global consistency. - Desired relevant work experience with settlements.
- Desired industry knowledge and Derivative product process.
- Accountability for completion of day to day work oversight, proactive root cause investigation, in addition to project work and testing.
- Well-rounded, methodical person with strong analytical skills.
- Ability and confidence to identify and raise risks/issues to management, and to suggest solutions to issues, process improvements or highlight gaps and areas of concern.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
- Japanese and English Communication skills both oral and written are essential (requires dealing with local and global counterparts on a regular basis).
- Task orientated and inquisitive in nature, required to ensure issues and processes are challenged.
- Self-motivated and have the ability to work consistently and efficiently to achieve goals either as an individual or as part of a team.
