OTC Derivatives Contract Negotiator

As the needs of our clients become increasingly complex, we often develop customized solutions.Business Control Unit ("BCU") is a first line team within the Fixed Income Division which covers a number of risk areas, including Non-Market Risk (Operational Risk), Counterparty Risk, Conduct Risk and Contract Negotiations.The BCU Institutional Securities Documentation Team covers the contract negotiation function for trading agreements for Fixed Income (including Commodities) and is currently looking for a derivatives and financing documentation negotiator with a focus on institutional clients of the Fixed Income, Commodities and Finance Divisions. The role involves collaborating with various areas of the Firm, interacting with external clients, and negotiating different types of derivatives and financing documentation.ISD is a global team based in several locations (including New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Mumbai, Budapest and Singapore) and the broader Budapest ISD team would work closely with each of the regional teams supporting the Fixed Income Division in the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific. We are looking for an individual to join the Budapest ISD team supporting the EMEA region.What will you be doing? * Identifying necessary documentation for the clients to trade securities or OTC derivatives and perform related due diligence scans. * Drafting and negotiating legal documentation (including master agreements, amendments, and ancillary documents required for OTC derivatives, repurchase or stock loan transactions.) * Handling client negotiations and any related projects to ensure timely execution and completion. * Liaising with internal stakeholders in Credit, Risk Management, Legal and Sales to negotiate contractual terms and respond to internal and external questions. * Understanding and adhering to established procedures. * Review and analyse legal documentation to determine capacity and authority to enter into OTC derivatives transactions, repurchase or stock loan transactions. * Communicating with clients and external counsel. * Keeping abreast of market developments and sharing updates with internal stakeholders * Updating internal spreadsheets and systems with document or status data.What we are looking for: * Fluency in German language at business level is essential for this role. * Experience in having negotiated German language master agreements would be useful, but not essential. * Education Level: Degree in law / business administration degree or equivalent * Knowledge in financing/derivatives documentation. * Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent people skills (this individual will interface with a variety of people with different skills and seniority levels), general comfort with Technology (particularly Microsoft Word and Excel); a quick learner - including learning internal computer systems, ability to set, track, achieve and report on short/long term goals and projects. * Essential Characteristics: Organised, detail-oriented, self-starter (highly proactive), comfortable interacting with junior and senior colleagues, commercial, willing to assist / teach other members of the team, ability to work collaboratively on group projects and independently on individual assignments. * ISDA, GMRA or GMSLA negotiation experience would be useful, but not essential. * Experience with physical commodities agreements (EFET, GTMA) would be useful, but not essential. * Additional languages: French, Spanish or Italian would be useful, but not essential. #LI-NB1 #LI-hybrid BPGCWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
