Serve as a subject matter expert for liquid and private market alternative investments (private equity, private credit, real assets, and hedge funds) and assist in building alternative allocations within client portfolios Assist in prospective and existing client interactions; engage with client segment teams and financial advisors to aid in work for new client mandates Participate in OCIO and MSFO's regularly occurring meetings to discuss asset allocation/portfolio management, manager selection, and forward pipeline opportunities; responsibilities will include preparing updated market views and investment analyses, participating in portfolio reviews, and presenting potential portfolio ideas/changes Aid in the sourcing of alternative investment ideas and manager due diligence for institutional caliber alternatives offerings (screening, taking part in manager calls/meetings, etc.) Actively participate in meetings with external investment managers Help support business initiatives and liaise with key stakeholders across partner groups and control functions Work on strategic projects to further develop alternatives capabilities within the division as well as to enhance OCIO and MSFO capabilities and value-proposition Assist in the automation of data workflows and the creation of financial models and custom analytical tools 3+ years of investment-related experience in alternative investments, preferably at a Fund of Funds, family office, or in an investment-related function at an alternative asset management firm Firm understanding of global capital markets, asset management industry, and the alternative investment landscape Understanding of portfolio management concepts including asset allocation, modern portfolio theory, portfolio construction, manager selection, risk management, and performance analysis; experience in portfolio construction and asset allocation is a plus Advanced skills in Excel (read, write, interpret, and audit VBA); experience with macros, Factset, Bloomberg, API Proactive & hard working with strong professional accountability Exemplary verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and/or quantitative skills Desire and willingness to learn and collaborate within a close-knit team Strong organizational and project management skills Must be very detail-oriented with an ability to multi-task At our foundation are five core values - putting clients first, doing the right thing, leading with exceptional ideas, committing to diversity and inclusion, and giving back - that guide our more than 80,000 employees in 1,200 offices across 42 countries.
