Morgan Stanley JAVA Lead Engineer - Vice President - Software Engineering Profile Description Division We're seeking someone to join our team as Vice President, in Research Technology to deliver innovative solutions using cutting edge technologies to support Research business. InstitutionalSecurities_Technology Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST's 'clients' include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets. Advisory & Sales Distribution Advisory is responsible for end-to-end process life cycle support for Investment Banking, Global Capital Markets and Research with a focus on efficiency, scale, and time to market. Sales Distribution develops technology for the firm's IED and FID Sales and Distribution business units, creating application synergies across the businesses various platforms Software Engineering This is Vice President position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs. What you'll do in the role: Key responsibilities for this role include - • Lead the design and development of complex software systems and applications • Hands-on Senior Java developer • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and direction. • Architect solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements • Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing • Collaborate with global team including business analysts to finalize requirements • Drive delivery and engineering excellence • Participate in innovation initiatives • Implement and ensure the team complies to SDLC best practices • Interface with external teams like Architecture and Security to adhere to firm standards and controls. What you'll bring to the role: Required Skills: • 10-15 years years hands-on experience in IT and from a premium institutes • Strong work experience in Java, Spring, Cloud platforms • Strong hands-on skills with Java and frameworks such as Spring, SpringBoot, etc • Experience designing and building RESTful service applications, Microservices and clients • Experience with NoSQL databases such as Mongo DB, messaging platforms such as Kafka • Experience working on Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP • Experience with Cloud-Native technologies, any Cloud platform, Docker, Kubernetes • Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills • Experience in troubleshooting applications using modern observability stack • Experience deploying and managing applications in Unix/Linux environment • Build scalable distributed systems • Adopt industry standard software frameworks • Experience with application integration, unit testing, automated testing, performance analysis • Experience in Agile development techniques and good understanding of build and release management principles including continuous integration and delivery.
