Department Profile
International Wealth Management (IWM) is a division within Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management (PWM) that focuses on overseeing the business and key strategic efforts focused on servicing International clients, (i.e., clients residing outside the US, and booking assets at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney). IWM has been one of the largest growth business within WM over the last few years and a strategic focus of the firm.
The IWM Strategy team is responsible for crafting, developing and implementing initiatives to scale the IWM business to successfully service our existing clients, expand our current model, and ensure that the needs of our financial advisors are met
Role Profile
- This role supports the strategy of several key initiatives, including the development of the Financial Intermediaries segment (e.g., multi-family offices), international expansion efforts across Europe, the Middle East, APAC and LATAM, cross-divisional development work, field support, and client related events/queries
- This individual will join a team of high-performers with a proven record of executing on the Firm's strategy to grow IWM assets. Team members drive key initiatives and support business management areas, including client events oversight, and annual budget process
- As an Assistant Vice President on the team, you will contribute to the strategic discussions with internal stakeholders, help drive alignment on key decisions with partners across the Firm, and assist in executing those decisions with efficiency and accuracy
- This role requires someone who is capable of balancing strategic thinking and day-to-day execution, and helping stand up and scale new initiatives to effectively to contribute to Net New Assets
Key Responsibilities
In this role, the IWM Strategy Assistant Vice President will:
- Manage cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and key deliverables.
- Help to launch several new initiatives focused on driving Net New Asset growth this year in the International space
- Collaborate with teams across business units and international regions to advance strategic projects and operational improvements
- Provide data-driven insights to help develop strategic recommendations alongside senior colleagues
- Support and enhance the operations of our lead distribution process
- Develop concise and effective presentations that communicate strategic priorities and insights
- Collaborate with various business and operational teams to improve opportunities delivered to Financial Advisors
- Work across multiple lines of business, risk, compliance and operation departments to improve opportunities sent to Financial Advisors
- Participate in senior-level discussions and contribute to the delivery of insights that inform both tactical and long-term business decisions

Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- 4-7 years in wealth management, top-tier management consulting, or financial services firm
- Experience in financial services preferred, Wealth Management expertise a plus
- International background a plus
Skills Required
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including collaborative work style and ability to influence stakeholders; experience working across teams and with senior leadership a plus
- Project management skills, including ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and adjust to changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail and results-oriented individual
- Strong team player, and high energy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
