The Investment Oversight team within the MSIM FMIL ensures that all investment delegates and strategies comply with regulatory requirements, deliver value to investors, and align with the Firm's risk and governance frameworks.The RoleThe successful individual will be a member of the Investment Oversight team reporting directly to the Head of Investment Oversight. The individual will support the Designated Person for Investment Management in carrying out effective oversight of all Investment Management delegates performing investment activity on behalf of MSIM FMIL.Primary Responsibilities * Perform operational due diligence and oversight on delegate entities, including review of processes supporting the delivery of portfolio management and trading activities. * Ensure the investment oversight framework aligns with Firm and regulatory requirements relating to outsourcing governance. * Collaborate with Outsourcing Governance and Non-Financial Risk functions on the delegate oversight programme. * Document and present to senior management on operational due diligence observations * Support the team in investment due diligence efforts and oversight of investment delegates managing a broad range of strategies across equities, fixed income, multi-asset and alternatives. * The selected candidate will also have responsibility for supporting and, at times, managing the delivery of any strategic and tactical initiatives to improve the function's capabilities.Qualifications: * Previous relevant professional asset management experience, including exposure to a variety of asset classes/business. * Operational due diligence and/or experience within an investment control or risk control function * Strong academics; educated to degree standard or equivalent. * CFA or equivalent financial qualifications preferred. * Experience in engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, with some experience of board level engagement. * Awareness of front office activities and core activities / capabilities within investment management. * Highly detail-oriented self-starter and team player, with the ability to maintain accuracy and effectiveness while working in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment. * Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills - ability to appropriately engage with stakeholders at all levels. * Demonstrable project engagement and management skills are advantageous.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
