About Global Financial Crimes In Global Financial Crimes (GFC), you will play a critical role in identifying potentially suspicious activity, protecting vulnerable individuals, and safeguarding the integrity of the financial system. GFC coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's financial crime prevention efforts. Including governance, oversight, and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. Your Key Responsibilities: Morgan Stanley is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Vice President, Digital Assets Advisory to join our GFC Wealth Management and U.S. Banks coverage team, reporting to the Firm's Head of Digital Assets Advisory. To be successful in this role, you must have deep knowledge of digital asset financial crimes compliance, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to think analytically. You should also possess exceptional problem-solving and project management skills. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with an in-depth understanding of financial services and hands on experience with blockchain analytics tools and financial crimes in the digital asset space. As a Digital Assets Advisory officer in GFC, you will: - Be responsible for financial crimes compliance and related regulatory matters related to digital assets products/services and other initiatives, including working closely with key stakeholders in Compliance and Operational Risk - Assist in the ongoing development, administration, and implementation of the Firm's financial crimes program relating to digital assets, including supporting development and implementation of policies and procedures - Develop, recommend, and oversee implementation of risk-based processes and controls to ensure business unit compliance with relevant financial crimes laws and regulations - Address financial crimes-related queries from first line risk, business, fraud, and operations groups with respect to cryptocurrency and other digital assets - Develop content for and deliver specialized training to relevant internal audiences concerning digital assets for both in-person and Firm-wide online training modules - Coordinate with key teams in GFC on digital asset related matters, including KYC, monitoring and screening controls, governance, and risk assessment teams - Conduct ad hoc due diligence projects arising from the administration of the financial crimes program with respect to digital assets - Maintain awareness of regulatory changes, emerging financial crimes typologies, and industry best practices related to digital assets, ensuring proper communication and timely implementation of policy or process changes - In partnership with GFC business advisory and legal teams, provide written and verbal communication on issues to the lines of business, performing and reviewing highly sensitive client and transaction information - Assist with responding to regulatory exams and inquiries and internal audits.What We're Looking for in You- Strong academic credentials; Bachelor's degree required - 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably at a large/complex financial institution, digital assets fintech, law firm, or government/regulatory body - Detailed understanding of the laws, rules, regulations, and industry best practice pertaining to digital assets, in particular cryptocurrency - Strong project management skills - Ability to understand and assess a wide variety of complex commercial transactions - Highly motivated self-starter able to work independently while collaborating and coordinating as part of a global program - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to provide viable solutions in a time-sensitive environment - Strong written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail, and effective time management - Sound judgment and an ability to appropriately escalate issues internally - Strong interpersonal skills and team-player attitude - Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license - or certification within first 15 months of employment WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years.
