Department Overview:

The Wealth Management Client Segments division within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management includes the Advisor-led, Workplace, Institutional and Digital Direct businesses which work to meet clients wherever they are on their financial journey, supporting their growth and deepening relationships over time.

The Client Segments & ETRADE Strategy & Execution team is responsible for driving execution priorities within the self-directed channel (ETRADE) and delivering against cross-channel growth initiatives across the broader Client Segments division. The team's remit can be categorized across four verticals: (i) Strategic Planning/Execution & Corporate Development, (ii) Business Management, (iii) "Chief of Staff", and (iv) Special Projects across. The team's portfolio is ever-changing: in the past, projects included driving inorganic growth initiatives, building out financial models, assessing the impact of strategic investments, managing the financial budget across Client Segments, and preparing briefing memos for the Head of Wealth Management Client Segments.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Executive Director to lead Business Management efforts across the ETRADE business, including the following responsibilities:

  • Functioning in a business management capacity in close partnership with our Human Resources organization, and managing and cascading relevant human capital-related activities and deadlines across individual business lines under the ETRADE organization
  • Conducting headcount and compensation modeling and forecasting across a ~3K person organization; managing the annual headcount and compensation budget; and driving a headcount review and approval process in line with our strategic agenda
  • Driving expense management across the various business lines within the ETRADE organization
  • Building close relationships with all our functional partners (Finance, HR, Legal, Risk, Compliance, etc.) and overseeing monthly management reporting in collaboration with the functional partners
  • Planning team-building and culture-driving events across an organization of ~3K individuals spanning multiple locations across the U.S. (e.g., town halls, volunteer programming, etc.)
  • Given the team is a relatively newly formed, this role will continue to evolve over time into other areas of opportunity, including: (1) acting as an internal Artificial Intelligence (AI) ambassador and driving the training and adoption of AI tools across home office teams; and (2) potentially overseeing and managing the horizontal AI deployment strategy across our service centers


Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree will be a plus
  • Experience in Wealth Management or related business management roles in the financial services industry

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
