The role will reside within the Firm Risk Management's Credit Risk Management area which is a team dedicated to evaluating credit risk transactions considering the availability and appropriateness of arrangements for reducing risk or risk mitigation. The department also assigns Internal Credit Ratings; establishes and manages credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board; monitors and reports on credit risk exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer and Firm Risk Management. CRM also interacts with business units to ensure that credit risk assessments are factored into business decisions.

The responsibilities of this role include evaluating credit risk on Commercial Real Estate (CRE) warehouse facilities and pledged collateral, reviewing loan structures for suitability, and assessing risk mitigation measures. The position also involves working with the business unit to incorporate credit risk assessments into business decisions.

What will you be doing?
• Independently manage and evaluate loan originations, renewals, amendments, and modifications.
• Facilitate and lead meetings with key stakeholders, encompassing client due diligence, firm credit committees, and business unit discussions
• Monitor the existing portfolio, including periodic reporting of risk profiles, trends, industry developments, concentrations and conducting downside scenario analysis
• Prepare timely and insightful annual and quarterly reviews, including the assessment of performance against underwritten base case projections and key credit metrics
• Review of due diligence materials and involvement in due diligence sessions, including asset site visits and review of appraisals/valuations
• Support training and development initiatives for junior team members.

What we're looking for:
• Minimum 5 years of experience covering commercial real estate lending or REITs, ideally within Credit risk
• Strong knowledge of the lending process, transaction structures and documentation e.g. term sheets and facility agreements
• Experience covering other asset backed lending is an advantage.
• Understanding of financial markets, financing instruments, associated legal documentation and risk mitigating structures
• Knowledge of basic accounting / financial concepts and familiarity with credit metrics
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
• Strong analytical skills; experience in financial analysis and modelling
• Strong attention to detail and ability to provide information in usable formats (proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
• Bachelors degree or equivalent
• Fluency in English is required
