MoneyLion is looking for a Staff Engineer to join our New York City engineering team to help build the future of financial technology. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will guide the evolution of MoneyLion's technical architecture across our different offerings and help expand our technical capabilities to support our rapidly growing business. You will be instrumental in the architecture and implementation of a robust, scalable backend system responsible for handling millions of dollars’ worth of financial transactions.

Who You Are
- You have expertise with Java and the Spring ecosystem or Golang
- You have strong experience with microservice patterns like CQRS, Hexagonal Architecture, Transactional outbox, etc
- You are intimately familiar with MongoDB, Kafka, and Postgres
- Some experience in or exposure to web frontend technologies such as React, AngularJS, or VueJS
- You are proficient with Kubernetes and AWS
- You adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This includes working independently and on a team
- You love mentoring other engineers
- Intellectually curious, passionate, and inventive
- You seek simple approaches to complex solutions
- You write simple, elegant, well-structured and well tested code that drives new features and improvements
- You may have some domain knowledge related to Fintech
What You Will Do At MoneyLion
- Build foundational systems at scale and spearheading software projects that significantly advanced the goals of our organization
- Be a final point of escalation for Engineering including architecture and systems design
- Ensure that the architecture and implementation scales to support a rapidly growing company
- Interface and collaborate with product teams
- Shorten the product to market time across MoneyLion’s portfolio
- Evolve our systems by tackling architecture, code reviews, and design doc (RFCs)
- Mentor other engineers across multiple pods
- Deliver high-quality code that impacts the bottom line of the business
- Assist with design, coding patterns, tools, frameworks, and methods to help in effectively meeting cross-team and quarterly objectives
