OVERVIEW
This position can be based out of San Francisco, New York, or remote (we accept candidates from many states).
We're looking for an Enterprise Sales Engineer to join our growing Sales Engineering team. In this role you'll architect complex solutions for our prospects & customers, build and deliver compelling demos, collaborate closely with the product team on roadmap and product design, and weave together business and technical value for executive audiences.
Day to day, you will do deep discovery into our prospects/customers' technical, financial, and operational needs, translating this to help paint the vision of how Modern Treasury can partner to solve their problems and power their business. Typical outputs of the role include whiteboarding (virtual and in person where possible), building out detailed solution design documents, and delivering customized demos and presentations. Travel is required/expected.

Modern Treasury sales engineers are trusted advisors to companies modernizing and innovating their payment infrastructure, launching new products, or cleaning up outdated and inefficient processes.
You will be the technical voice of the customer and should be constantly learning AND teaching about our products. You'll develop a broad understanding of our customers' cross product needs and use this unique perspective to provide feedback to the Product team on roadmap planning and product design. You'll teach AEs the value our products deliver to customers to help improve their positioning.
We're looking for someone who is an excellent storyteller, great at executive communication, has experience with REST API based solution design, and is interested in learning the nuts and bolts of payment systems, finance processes, and accounting fundamentals.
As a senior member of our SE team you'll have an important role in shaping how we tell the story of Modern Treasury to our Enterprise customers.

REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of customer facing technical roles
- Excellent at presenting, storytelling, and demoing
- Experience with REST API based solution design
- Good at executive communication
- Self driven learner. You'll write more enablement material than you'll read
- Finance and/or accounting knowledge is a nice to have
During your first week you will:
- Onboard with our company, sort out your tech and accounts
- Develop an understanding of our customers and our products
- Start to listen to customer calls
- Get to know the product teams
- Spend a lot of time reading
- Build your own application against MT APIs
- Start to build out solution designs for customers
- Start to join customer calls, first shadowing, but leading by week six
- Begin diving into Enterprise sales cycles
- Become an internal expert on our products, answering questions for every customer facing team
- Practice your skills by taking commercial prospects from initial design through launch
- Help craft our Enterprise story and build out demos
