Senior Manager, Partnership Marketing

Job Summary

Come play a role in the continued growth of MLB’s Partnership Marketing department. The Senior Manager, Partnership Marketing will be responsible for ideating and executing Sponsorship obligations on MLB Network (linear and social channels), MLB’s O&O streaming product MLB.TV and MLB’s streaming partners including Apple TV+.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Partnership Marketing, this role will provide support in the execution/scheduling/tracking of ‘sales features’ and presenting sponsorships, in addition to the facilitation of sponsored elements (i.e. graphics and animations). The Senior Manager will also have the opportunity to assist in the creation of custom sponsored video and original content that features MLB Network talent, in addition to Sponsorship-lead video projects including ‘welcome reels’, recap videos and ‘sizzles’.

While the majority of the Senior Manager’s time will be devoted to the ideation and execution of sales obligations in MLB Network studio shows and remote games, they will also have the opportunity to support the 360 presale side of the Partnership Marketing team as needed. This could entail ideation, detailed tracking of our assets, and working with internal teams to gather information for pitches that entail: MLB.com + 30 Club websites, @MLB and @Club social platforms, MLB.TV, and MLB Network. 

The position requires a very high level of organization, extreme attention to detail, ability to pivot from one project to the next, and a willingness to field calls/emails during non-traditional work hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Core responsibility is to ideate and execute sales features and presenting sponsorships in MLB Network studio shows and events, in addition to game broadcasts on MLB Network, Apple TV, MLB.TV and other potential steaming partners.
  • Manage sales feature process with tracking and executional documents to ensure that features are airing according to the obligations of each deal
  • Create one-sheets and decks for presale and postsale purposes
  • Manage and mentor Sr. Coordinator who will report to Sr Manager
  • Spearhead Sponsorship-led video projects with MLBN edit team 
  • Liaise on behalf of Sponsorship with MLB Network Production, Programming, Creative Services, Social and Traffic
  • Ensure correct execution of sales elements with frequent QC measures
  • Attend agency and client calls with Sales team, as necessary, to be a reliable resource for MLB Network sales executions and general MLB Network knowledge
  • Approximately 25% of time devoted to supporting presale side of Partnership marketing as needed on RFP responses and proactive pitches
  • Identify best-in-class MLBN sales elements to merchandise MLB’s prospects, advertisers and partners 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6-7 years relevant experience in a Partnership/Ad Sales marketing role and/or linear broadcast network
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Acumen for problem-solving
  • Strong knowledge of linear broadcast network, preferred
  • Experience working with content creators/producers, preferred
  • Advanced skills in PPT, Excel and Google Docs
  • Strong written and presentation skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Willingness to field communications during non-traditional work hours

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000.

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
