Coordinator, Physical Security and Intelligence

The Coordinator, Physical Security & Intelligence supports the Security & Ballpark Operations Department in a variety of initiatives related to Major League Baseball’s headquarters office security and intelligence functions, among other projects. The primary function of this position is to provide building security officer-style services to the Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball. The Coordinator is also responsible for liaising with MLB’s employees, guests, and VIPs with an eye towards safety and security, as well as assisting with various protective intelligence-related projects. The Coordinator will report to the Manager, Physical Security & Intelligence and will work closely with MLB’s Real Estate, Facilities, and Officer Operations Department.

Responsibilities 

  • Greet and provide high levels of service to employees, guests, and VIPs on a daily basis
  • Monitor closed circuit television, alarms, gunshot detection, and other security systems
  • Coordinate daily employee safety and security duties with the Office Operations Department
  • Maintain strong working relationship with building security (MLB’s landlord)
  • Serve in the capacity of a floor warden coordinator in the event of a natural disaster or security incident
  • Provide emergency first aid (CPR, AED) as needed
  • Contact emergency services (police, fire) as needed, and serve as the coordinator between first responders and those in need of emergency care
  • Respond to any safety/security incidents within office space
  • Proactively address unusual situations as they arise or are reported
  • Assist in protective intelligence threat management (research and document incidents, threats, and persons of interest)
  • Assist with employee-facing security products and reports
  • Play a supporting role in crisis management when needed
  • Monitor global security developments, with an eye toward anything that may affect MLB’s international footprint
  • Provide other overall support and related duties to the Department, as directed

Qualifications & Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • One to three years’ experience
  • CPR or NY First Responder certifications preferred
  • Pass comprehensive background check
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to digest, analyze, interpret, and disseminate complex information in a logical and efficient fashion
  • Detail oriented, highly-organized and excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and with oversight
  • Highly-motivated, self-initiated, critical thinker, analytical mindset
  • Professional demeanor, ability to communicate with diverse audiences
  • This position is based in New York City and is not eligible for remote work
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Salary Range: $60,000- $67,500 (Base Salary) + Bonus and Overtime
