Summary

Seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, lease operations team member to carry out a broad range of finance, reporting and customer support related operational tasks for Mizuho's lease finance subsidiary. The ideal candidate is expected to work in a collaborative, deadline driven environment with other lease operations staff and in alignment with, lease accounting, tax and other department teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Create daily wires/book transfers in Mizuho's online e-banking system.
  • Run daily general ledger, Lease Wave and bank account activity reports.
  • Perform daily bank account cash reconciliations.
  • Create payment vouchers in Lease Wave via Treasury Payable function.

  • Send daily cash information to TCU team.
  • Create general ledger journal entries.
  • Prepare money transfer memorandums mainly for S, G&A expenses.
  • Prepare timely LIS information in MIPS for corporate debt repayments as and when due.
  • Ensure cohesive and immediate storage of electronic data and approvals as procedurally required for ease of access for any and all audits.
  • Collaborate with internal and external party requirements to provide adequate and timely responses to transaction related inquiries providing sufficient backup as necessary.
  • Maintain ticklers for future items due on team calendar ensuring expected deadlines are met.
  • Create check requests as needed in Peoplesoft or other future method or replacement system.
  • Provide process support coverage for team members out of the office.
  • Assist with internal, and external audits as necessary.
  • Provide support to ad-hoc operations, portfolio management, accounting or tax related projects.
  • Comply with all legal, compliance and training requirements as Mizuho deems necessary.

  • Requirements
    • Accounting, other business-related degree or 5 years of proven financial operations/accounting experience.
    • 1-3 years combined experience in customer support, accounting/bookkeeping and/or business operations processing.
    • Knowledge of basic accounting principles as well as detail reconciliation experience is a must.
    • Proven track record to initiate appropriate actions and follow-up actions, with minimal direct supervision as well as discernment to escalate issues as necessary.
    • Able to effectively interact and communicate with various levels of management, auditors, accountants, and third-party associates.
    • Ability to work with and/or support, cross functional teams.
    • Experience working with various systems and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.
    • Strong organizational, and follow up skills; professional interpersonal skills, strong attention to details, ability to work well under pressure.

    Technical Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Leasewave or other portfolio management system a plus

    The expected base salary ranges from $59,000 - $75,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
