Manager, Strategy & Business Development

The Manager, Strategy & Business Development will report to and work closely with the Head of Strategy & Business Development on all aspects of strategic planning, strategy development, and business development. The function is responsible for three broad areas:
  1. Supporting the CEO and COO in the implementation and maintenance of MIO's strategic plan
  2. Execution of MIO's strategic initiatives that form part of the 3-year vision
  3. Supporting select departmental initiatives by providing problem solving and project management capabilities where and when needed


Profile of the successful candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following capabilities:
  • Strong problem solver with an analytical mindset
  • Operational experience combined with strong project management skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and has the ability to independently manage multiple workstreams with periodic guidance
  • High personal productivity and multi-tasking capability to drive multiple projects on parallel timelines
  • Able to structure complex financial models, make critical trade-off decisions using sound judgement, and translate analyses into business implications
  • Ability to work effectively across the organization to gather sensitive data while maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to distill and synthesize complex data in a way that supports senior leader decision making
Desired Background
  • 5+ years experience in an operational role in the hedge fund and/or alternative asset industry, and/or related experience at sell-side organizations
  • Is able to demonstrate success in having helped manage complex, strategic/operational change projects
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Has a strong understanding of MIO's business model
  • Has a distinctive academic pedigree
  • Has excellent MS Office skills
Certain US states require MIO Partners, Inc. to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual's assigned office location, experience, and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to MIO's discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance. Additionally, MIO offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision coverage, telemedicine services, life, accident and disability insurance, parental leave and family planning benefits, caregiving resources, a generous retirement program, financial guidance, and paid time off.

Base salary range

$180,000-$200,000 USD
