Meta's Reality Labs is looking for a Technical Artist to join our avatars team. The avatars team creates and maintains the system that powers our avatars used across our family of apps, including all of our Metaverse initiatives in VR/AR. As a Technical Artist working on tools and pipelines, you will have the opportunity to work closely with designers, engineers, and other technical artists to help bring characters to life. Characters who are part of our apps that are used by billions of users around the world.
Technical Artist, Metaverse Avatars Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a wide array of existing workflows and tools
- Partner closely with art, engineering, user-experience, product management, and other teams to develop content in modern real-time environments
- Design, manage and maintain the content pipeline from asset creation through deployment
- Quickly innovate and solve issues with cross-functional teams

- 5+ years of experience in game development or the tech industry operating as a Technical Artist
- Experience with Python, C#
- Experience in character rigging technologies
- Familiarity with Digital Content Creation tools such as Maya
- Familiarity with game development engines such as Unity, Unreal
- Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience with real time asset implementation and optimization techniques
- Experience communicating across team members including engineers, artists and production staff
- Experience building tools, plug-ins and designing workflows for content production
- Proven experience to collaborate and iterate based on the team's evolving needs
- Comprehensive understanding of how to build content for real time performance
- Experience with animation system
- Knowledge of emerging technologies
- Experience with GenAI artist tools

$130,000/year to $180,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
