Meta is seeking Research Scientist Managers to join Reality Labs, focused on making significant advances in bringing the power of AI to wearable devices: Rayban Meta and our family of VR products. Our current focus includes efficient vision and language foundational models, multimodal understanding and on-device perception. We focus on groundbreaking research on efficient models and on delivering these models to power novel experiences in our products. We seek Research Scientist Managers with relevant expertise to join our research team to foster cutting-edge research in on-device AI.
Research Scientist Manager - Reality Labs Responsibilities:
- Support and grow/build a team of AI experts.
- Develop research plans, long-term strategy and set direction for the team and the organization.
- Identify opportunities for productizing research and foster collaborations with partner teams.
- Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with peer teams to accelerate research and development across projects.

- 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting and leading teams of researchers and engineers.
- Experience and track of record in delivering large research initiatives, starting from research to productization.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in research in multimodal modeling, deep learning and related fields.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, leading technical organizations, including performance management.
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in deep learning, computer vision or natural language processing or related fields.
- Experience with model optimization, efficient training and inference
- Interest in cross-disciplinary research in topics relevant to developmental AI.
- Evidence of research background with publications in top conferences/journals in the related fields.

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
