At Reality Labs, our goal is to define and deliver novel input and interaction solutions to enable experiences with AI devices. We are looking for a skilled Research Engineer to join our research team and help us define the interaction solutions of the future. Our input and interaction research and development lies at the intersection of human-computer interaction and machine. We are seeking engineers to work on the "full stack" of HCI problems, from low-level input processing all the way up to the application and interface. Research Engineer, Game Engine / Systems Responsibilities:

- Design and implement features in Unreal Engine , that power experiences across RL-R
- Extend UE runtime features in deploying new tools and experiences
- Work closely with other team members who are building experiences with the game engine
- Investigate and improve software experience
- Work on Windows and Linux platforms
- Create high quality, performant, and maintainable code
- Document and support game engine specific features and code
- Partner closely with researchers to understand their tooling and experience needs
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
- 3+ years of experience developing in C/C++
- 3+ years of experience using Unreal Engine
- 3+ years of experience working on game engine architecture experience or equivalent
- Experience shipping AAA game titles
- Experience with synthetic data generation systems for AI model training
- Experience with 3d graphics programming, including shaders, rendering pipeline, and low level systems

$56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
