The team's mission is to prepare the world for the next generation of wearable products and experiences as we build toward the metaverse. This person will create strategy to drive convergence between external policy expectations and the next generation of products being developed across Reality Labs by building external coalitions and feedback loops for use cases such as cross-platform AI-powered metaverse experiences. The Manager will build partnerships with external stakeholders to shape the legislative and regulatory environment. The ideal candidate is a constant learner, skilled at prioritizing, well-organized, can navigate ambiguity, juggle multiple tasks/timelines at once, and excited by new technologies. This candidate will be familiar with global regulatory frameworks in areas like privacy and accessibility and have a meaningful understanding of stakeholders and perspectives in the policy community. This person is a great writer, communicator, and organizer who has experience working collaboratively with executives, engineering/product teams, and policy colleagues alike and consistently delivers high-quality work under pressure.

Reality Labs Policy Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute on an engagement strategy to influence global policy environment norms of the policy communities around new products and features like contextual AI and cross-platform immersive social experiences
- Identify external policy champions to advocate for the value and innovativeness of our XR devices and experiences
- Work with internal RL champions to develop frameworks, guide continued development, and ensure compelling use cases are prioritized.
- Track and shape regulatory proposals, work with legislative and regional teams on drafting positions and steer outcomes to unlock metaverse use cases globally
- JD degree, Master's degree, or equivalent practical tech policy experience.
- 5+years of experience public policy experience (2+ years of experience with advanced degree in similar field)
- Familiarity with public policy issues governing consumer electronics including XR devices and immersive social experiences
- Background in technology policy and interest in new and emerging technology
- Experience with creating and communicating policy analysis
- Experience prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects under tight deadlines
- Experience communicating publicly to policy audiences
- Familiarity with global legislative and regulatory environment impacting privacy and AI
- Experience planning and executing global cross-functional initiatives
- Experience coalition-building and working with external stakeholders
