As a Product Design Manager for the Spatial Systems team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Meta's spatial products and experiences. You will leverage your extensive experience in 3D and spatial design to guide an experienced team of designers. You will partner with the teams within Horizon and XR Technology teams to evaluate novel technologies and find ways to apply them to improve our current and future products. Your technical knowledge of 3D systems, combined with your proven track record for user experience, will drive the creation of impactful and relevant prototypes and products that drive connection and creation in ways never before possible.You will drive the team to solve problems never before solved, such as how to create rich co-presence experiences with others, gaming and working in spatial environments, and keeping users safe while letting them become immersed in virtual worlds.

Product Design Manager, Spatial Systems Design Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing technical guidance and driving the creation of high-quality experiences and prototypes
- Ensure user experience quality and technical feasibility are aligned and prioritized correctly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers from multiple organizations, to communicate design mission and establish the design team's impact within the organization
- Hire and grow skilled talent
- Navigate crises effectively, aligning the team when faced with conflicting priorities
- Explore new ideas in 3D (Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality), sharing learnings and insights with cross-functional teams
- Develop new features that utilize cutting-edge technology from our Research and Development groups to improve current products
- Communicate effectively, with technical proficiency both within and outside the design team, showcasing the platform's current and future capabilities
- Develop and implement processes for individual technical development, recruiting, and fostering team collaboration
- 3+ years of design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
- 6+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content and user research teams
- 3+ years of experience designing and shipping 3D user experiences
- Experience in 3D and spatial design, with a portfolio demonstrating technical competence and user-centered design
- Experience in technical communication skills, particularly in collaborating with engineers and product managers
- Demonstrated experience in product thinking, balancing goals with critical thinking and realistic goal-setting
- Experience in building and shipping brand new products and designing on spatial experiences (eg gaming, animation, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality/Mixed Reality)
- Experience with Unity, Unreal, or other 3D engine
- Experience in comprehending new technology opportunities and challenges and formulating perspectives on product strategy

$165,000/year to $231,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
