At Meta Reality Labs, we are developing the future of Wearables and Mixed Reality products and this team focuses on developing display and optics technologies for Meta products. The team's mission is to create see-through display systems that seamlessly blend the real and virtual realms. This involves designing the architecture and all display sub-systems for AR glasses based on leading technologies developed by Meta's teams. We work on creating advanced display technologies that are essential for AR and VR systems while having sub-teams that connect bits, electrons, photons, and experience for display products across wearables and the metaverse while focusing on display silicon architecture, applied perception studies, image quality, and defining the roadmap and long-term platform development strategy. Within XDO we also aim to develop and implement test, characterization, metrology, and data solutions to support the creation of transparent display systems.

Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology. People who choose to build their careers by building with us at Meta help shape a future that will take us beyond what digital connection makes possible today-beyond the constraints of screens, the limits of distance, and even the rules of physics.
