Reality Labs Research (RL-R) is dedicated to research and development required to deliver Meta's vision of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies that ship in five to ten years. As an Operations Program Manager for Human Subjects Research (HSR), you'll be a critical member of a multi-disciplinary team contributing to our efforts to gain a scientific understanding of the next generation of virtual humans, biomechanics, neuroscience, motion analysis, simulations, computer vision, AI and whatever else we dream up to create the ultimate AR/VR experiencesThis role will have a specific focus on scoping and developing tools and workflows for research participant recruiting, screening, scheduling, and compensation. As an EPM for HSR at RL-R, the broad scope of your role will be to work with the HSR team, technical program managers, research scientists, research assistants, facilities managers, network engineers, information technology and lab safety teams to drive, plan, and coordinate data collection in RL-R labs. To be successful, you will be eliminating barriers to your team's success and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while delving into the details on specific issues. Operations Program Manager for Human Subjects Research (HSR) Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Program Managers and Technical Program Managers to maintain and augment end-to-end support services for human subjects research, from inception, data collection, to final data analysis and publication
- including maintaining training materials and administering training for new researchers and research assistants.
- Collaborate with other PMs in the assessment and implementation of new technologies to gain efficiencies for study set up and administration, ensuring that new technologies maintain strict compliance with Facebook data privacy and security standards.
- Assist research teams with user study safety, legal and ethics compliance, including informed consent workflows, hardware and lab safety, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversight compliance.
- Coordinate logistics for study room bookings and research assistant (RA) assignments.
- Coordinate IT and networking infrastructure set up, troubleshooting, and network security compliance for research/UX labs.
- Assist research teams with research participant recruiting and screening, including the maintenance and administration of screening surveys, participant database upkeep, and the implementation of new data handling procedures in response to policy changes.
- 2+ years of program management experience
- Experience defining and driving project progress and schedules
- Experience working with cross-functional collaboration, relationship building, and leadership skills, with experience motivating people and resolving conflicts
- B.S. in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience operating independently across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
- Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline, user research, or administration
- 2+ years experience in a research environment
- Experience with program management software (e.g. Jira) and experience with CRM software (e.g. Constant Contact, Salesforce) or similar contact database software
- Experience in program management for neuroscience or UX (user experience) teams
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, e.g., research, software, and hardware

$101,000/year to $152,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
