Mechanical Engineer R&D

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer energized by collaboratively solving problems with a cross functional team. They can analyze, design, iterate, and communicate as they collaborate with others. They consider a broad range of business and hardware requirements including materials, manufacturability, form factor, ergonomics, and integration of technologies on softgoods substrates. They know how product will handle future problems and can prioritize the hardest items first.
Mechanical Engineer R&D Responsibilities:
- Work across the full product development cycle to deliver mechanical component/subsystem designs from concept to production
- Manage suppliers for prototypes and production of parts
- Able to manage the schedule of your parts in concert with the full program schedule
- Partner with a cross-functional team of engineers and researchers
- Work with first and third party partners to advance TRL of component technology
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience developing high-volume consumer products with stringent SWAP-C constraints in such as wearables, mobile devices, or similar
- 3+ years experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX or similar)
- Experience working cross functionally to rapidly prototyping new concepts
- Experience designing for CNC, injection molding, die cutting, lamination
- Experience developing wearable devices using elastomers and textiles
- Experience integrating haptic components into device
- Project management experience
- Experience managing component vendors
- Experience planning and executing Design of Experiments (DOEs)

$111,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
