Manufacturing Test Engineer - Software developer

Technical Operations team has the responsibility for evaluating technologies and identifying supply chain solutions that allow RL Org to deliver products to market at scale. Manufacturing Test Engineer will drive the development and deployment of hardware test systems with manufacturing partners and third-party integrators. You will be heavily involved in in bringing up, troubleshooting, and qualifying test equipment and automation systems. You will help define overall product test strategy, evaluate test equipment and qualification processes, and lead and facilitate integration of test systems into our existing data tracking networks and factory control systems. You will be designing and documenting new manufacturing equipment with standardization and reliability as a priority and creating test plans for validating existing equipment.The ideal candidate is a self-driven individual working in a cross functional team environment and will be responsible for planning the design, development, and implementation of factory test systems. You will enforce manufacturability, testability and ensure cost-effective designs are implemented for testing and automation systems, software, and equipment. This position will have responsibilities for NPI test development and sustaining support of production released test and automation systems.You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. We are looking for someone with a productive mindset who can apply your expertise to solve problems in creative, insightful ways.This position is full-time and based in China (Shanghai or Shenzhen).

Manufacturing Test Engineer - Software developer Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for manufacturing test processes, including test software application, test software frameworks
  • Develop tools and utilities for test data analysis and visualization to support manufacturing test processes optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and create solutions that meet the needs of manufacturing testing
  • Participate in the integration and validation of test systems in manufacturing environments, including on-site support during engineering build and mass production
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to manufacturing team
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS or MS of Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Proven experience in software development, proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++ or Python
  • Strong understanding of hardware-software integration and testing principles
  • Experience or interest in consumer electronic product development & volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control standards
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in designing and developing software applications and frameworks for manufacturing test automation
  • Strong understanding of hardware-software interactions and experience with hardware testing methodologies and instrumentation
  • Experience in utilizing instruments such as Digital Multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, and similar tools/instruments for test automation
  • Knowledge of Android adb, and fastboot protocols
  • Experience in developing machine learning models with image, audio and numeric data
  • Strong understanding of FATP or module test and manufacturing processes with direct experience managing manufacturing test implementation and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to define, develop, and troubleshooting manufacturing test issues
  • Strong ability & experience building cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Can-do attitude with the ability to drive results, motivate and collaborate with xfn teams to close issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to be in a leadership position and achieve results with minimal supervision
  • Travel required: up to 50% domestically or internationally combined
