The mission of the Mass Production Materials Program Management team is to drive dynamic material strategy and execution to support the robust product roadmap, balancing supply flexibility and cost exposure. Meta Reality Labs is seeking an experienced, driven and dedicated manager to lead our globally dispersed MP MPM team responsible for designing material strategy, managing material budget, driving material readiness, and mitigating material E&O throughout product life cycle. As a leader of MP MPM function, you will work closely with cross-functional partners internally and externally from planning, operations, procurements, quality, finance to Contract Manufacturers, shaping critical strategy/decisions and delivering results. There are a lot of exciting challenges in the product roadmap now. You are expected to bring in your in-depth supply chain knowledge, advanced analytical skills and creative mindset to tackle ambiguity and complexity. Proven influence skills and high confidence working around executive management are a must-have as you will represent MPM in numerous Executive reviews. Manager, Materials Program Management (Reality Labs) Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of MP MPM across US and APAC to deliver material availability, readiness and visibility in support of all in-production programs from PVT, ramp, sustaining to end of manufacturing.
- Design and implement Material Drive strategy to manage the appropriate buffer and flexibility at component level, enabling quick response to the demand change.
- Play a strategic role in the monthly S&OP process and shape critical demand vs supply decisions by providing budget scenarios, E&O analyses and CTB simulations.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on PRQ priority and material allocation between sites and programs to optimize supply chain.
- Run regular CTB reviews to drive closing material shortages with GSM, planning, OPS and quality teams.
- Manage the day to day execution with external partners such as Contract Manufacturers and distributors and act as escalation for urgent and critical issues.
- Drive E&O consolidation and mitigation throughout the supply chain tiers and acquire proper level approval for Financial Reserve and settlement.
- Review and improve efficiency of tools (CTB, Liability Curve, E&O Master File etc.) and elevate the team's performance continuously.
- Occasional travel to China.
- 10+ years of material management in a high-volume and fast-paced hardware industry and 8+ years of people management, influencing and coaching skills with experience leading cross functional teams.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills in handling complexity of multiple manufacturing sites, SKU mixes and Tier 2 to Tier 5 management.
- Succinct communication and presentation with an emphasis on translating data and insights into actionable recommendations for leaders. Proven track record of interacting and influencing management of all levels.
- Track record of building solid relationships and driving alignment/collaboration with cross functional teams internally and externally.
- Experience operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in and managing high volume, consumer electronics products launches and delivery.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing & Operations Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in self-developing data models or partnering with IT teams to design and scale tools/systems for efficiency improvement.
- Track record of identifying, developing and promoting talent.
- Cross-functional partnering experience.
- Fluency in Mandarin (Chinese) language is highly desirable but not mandatory.
