Head of Meta Music and Partnerships, Creative Audio

Meta is seeking an experienced leader to join our award-winning Creative Audio team-a varied group of musicians, composers, producers, curators, analysts, and sound designers. As Head of the Meta Music team within Creative Audio, you will lead a multidisciplinary group to shape the creative and strategic direction of music initiatives across the company. This includes overseeing royalty-free music programs to ensure high-quality, compliant audio assets that support Meta's platforms.In this role, you will proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities and strategic partnerships within the music and audio landscape, driving growth and innovation. You will also play a critical role in shaping our data infrastructure and expanding operational systems to enhance efficiency and impact.Collaborating closely with leadership, you will develop comprehensive roadmaps and strategies at both the team and department levels, with an emphasis on cutting-edge technology and creative innovation. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence Meta's most forward-thinking ventures at the intersection of technology, creativity, music, and product development.

Head of Meta Music and Partnerships, Creative Audio Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and lead a team of disciplines responsible for music development, music production, music operations, rights management/business affairs, and data analysis
  • Advocate for sound and music across Meta and in the larger creative community
  • Understand the strengths and opportunities on the current team as it grows, actively participating in the recruitment and hiring process
  • Manage music sourcing, contracting, and compliance workflows for music and audio workstreams
  • Monitor market trends and emerging technologies in audio to proactively establish and grow business initiatives and partnerships
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence product strategies, business models, and platform capabilities
  • Support and inform go-to-market strategy for all music and audio integrations
  • Establish external and third party partnerships to further development of spatial audio, mixed reality and AI work streams
  • Serve as a thought leader and bring subject matter expertise on music business and data topics in partnership forums and working groups
  • Collaborate with leadership to define the brand strategy and scope for Creative Audio
  • Work with leadership to establish best practices across the team with a focus on execution
  • Partner with operations manager to manage resources, headcount and budget against wide, varied and fast-evolving priorities
Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of operations and people management experience within a corporate, music, or tech organization
  • Demonstrated experience working alongside leadership in roadmap development, product targets and company level goals
  • Understanding of music and audio in product, with experience in go-to-market planning and strategy
  • Experience defining a data strategy and framework, leveraging metrics and insights to inform top level decision making
  • Experience to take projects from conceptualization to implementation in a dynamic and evolving environment
  • Demonstrated experience to influence cross functional roadmaps and investment areas
  • Demonstrated experience to communicate to all levels of leadership representing work to a broad product team, clearly and succinctly articulating goals and strategy
  • Familiarity and understanding of AI tools in the audio landscape
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills for both technical and executive audiences
  • Experience to scope, prioritize, and deliver initiatives that address sustained and long-term business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python, Excel)

$174,000/year to $246,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
