Failure Analysis Engineer

Conducting characterization at the material level and analyzing failures in batteries and battery materials
Failure Analysis Engineer Responsibilities:
- Use different techniques to drive destructive and non-destructive root-cause analysis
- Receive training and assist team members in meeting requirements from failure analysis and material characterization initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage work flow
- Comply with laboratory best practices. Ensure a well-organized and clean laboratory setting, oversee sample inventory, and adhere to all health and safety regulations in the lab
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
- Technical engineering degree in a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in imaging techniques is required. We seek a specialist who can measure quality data, cross-correlating results from various techniques, and providing interpretations that focus on the primary issue
- Proficiency in 2D x-ray, x-ray tomography, and optical microscopy is necessary
- Understanding in sample preparation methodologies
- Great communication skills and technical presentation skills

- Postgraduate degree in engineering discipline preferred
- Proven experience in identifying failures in consumer electronics products specific to batteries is essential
- A solid understanding of spectroscopy, thermal techniques is preferred

$111,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
