Codec Avatars Research Engineer Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with researchers on design and optimization of cutting-edge technology related to realistic avatars.
- Collaborate with engineers to scale and mature first-of-their-kind telepresence systems, to make them maximally performant, and to fuse together composite systems into a full-scale telepresence service.
- Collaborate with other machine and human perception teams at Facebook to develop experiments, prototypes, and concepts that advance the state-of-the-art in AR/VR systems.
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field plus 2+ years of work experience in CV/ML. Alternatively, PhD degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 2+ years of practical experience with training ML models in an industry or academic setting.
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Experience with Generative ML models.
- Experience with real world system building and data collection in the context of training ML models, including design, coding (C++/Python) and evaluation (C++/Python).
- Publication in leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, SIGGRAPH, ICCP, RSS, ICRA, etc.
- Experience developing software for computer vision, computer graphics, high performance computing, machine learning, or robotics applications
