Business Communications Manager, WhatsApp - Latin America

WhatsApp is looking for a Communications Manager to lead our business message communications efforts in Latin America. Already relied upon by millions of small businesses globally, WhatsApp is rapidly becoming the preferred way for larger organizations to help customers. This role will focus on building and sharing compelling stories to increase awareness about this significant shift in consumer behavior.This role will closely collaborate with the global Business Communications teams, as well as with local Sales and Partnerships stakeholders.

Business Communications Manager, WhatsApp - Latin America Responsibilities:

  • Manage data-driven and measurable communications on business messaging relevant topics across Latin America, both via media relations and social channels.
  • Help design and deliver communications campaigns, working with owned, paid and creator channels, supporting Meta's strategic objectives, linked to clear goals and metrics.
  • Work cross-functionally and be an influential voice with internal stakeholders, including Sales and Marketing, as well as the global Communications team.
  • Counsel internal stakeholders on media engagement strategy and social channels.

  • 7+ years of experience in communications for a technology company, B2B enterprise, or agency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations or equivalent experience.
  • Experience distilling business concepts into plain language for non-expert audiences.
  • Experience creating messaging materials, and partnering collaboratively with third-parties.
  • Experience in media relations and social channels.
  • Experience in reactive and crisis communications.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Portuguese.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on media campaigns with global teams.
  • Experience working on enterprise and business-to-business narratives.
  • Experience balancing multiple competing priorities, with flexibility to pivot/reprioritize quickly as needs arise.
  • Demonstrated track record of success to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with proven judgment and negotiation skills.
  • Basic working proficiency in Spanish.
