Audio Systems Engineer

Shenzhen, China

The Audio team within Reality Labs (RL) is focused on creating novel audio technologies and experiences that are integral to achieving RL's vision for the future of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Their mission is to create virtual sounds that are perceptually indistinguishable from reality and to redefine human hearing. The team has two primary strategic initiatives: Audio Presence, which aims to make virtual sounds feel physically present in the same space as the listener, and Superhuman Hearing, which enhances the capacity to hear important sounds and conversations regardless of the environment or hearing status. The team collaborates with various product, platform, and service teams to explore opportunities in spatial audio rendering, immersive audio capture, audio signal processing, and human perception. They are also involved in developing audio system architecture, experience optimization, and perceptual quality validation to enable enhanced audio experiences that are indistinguishable from real-world audio.
