Meta seeks a dynamic and passionate lawyer who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples' lives to join Meta's product counseling legal team. You will be supporting the product teams that are working on some of our most significant cross-Meta services and technologies for our youth users. You must have the experience to collaborate effectively and help drive decision making across multiple teams within the legal department, as well as across product, engineering, marketing, policy, communications, and other teams. - Act as primary legal strategic advisor for our teen and family experiences product and engineering teams, delivering practical legal risk mitigation strategies in an important space
- Provide broad support for youth legal issues across Meta including triage and escalation of central youth product issues as well as consultation of youth issues across products and surfaces
- Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across Meta
- Provide holistic legal advice across many youth focused subject areas, including integrity, content regulation, consumer protection, data security, and data protection/privacy
- Coordinate with policy, public affairs, product management, product marketing, privacy, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, product development, and product launches
- Maintain subject matter expertise in youth laws and regulations.
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
- 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
- Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
- Effective communication skills
- In-house experience managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions, including global youth privacy/content integrity laws and regulations, litigation, and compliance matters
- Experience with one of the following or related legal areas: product, content or regulatory counseling, consumer protection, and/or privacy
- Experience taking on projects involving different subject matters, and working with cross-functional organizations to drive alignment
- Experience working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, delivering practical advice under pressure and operating within ambiguity
- Experience supporting a global team at a social media, or other technology company particularly with youth related matters
- Experience with collaborating at all levels of the business including executives and C-suite
- Experience working effectively across multiple jurisdictions and time zones

$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
