Research Data Services Associate - Management Reporting

Description

The Research Data Services Associate will be a member of the Global Research Data Services team and will work with internal business and technology associates across regions to provide data, analysis, and reporting solutions to management, support partners and analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal partners to understand business requirements and design reporting solutions to recurring data needs.
  • Support management team and other internal partners with specific data inquiries and ad hoc analysis
  • Ensure data quality by developing data cleansing routines and working with technology team to organize data for optimal efficiency
  • Review existing reports and reporting team procedures; recommend and implement improvements
  • Automate existing SQL-based reporting routines; assist with migration of routines from non-permitted technology to enterprise standard platforms
  • Support technology-related reporting projects by: analyzing and documenting data lineage, documenting business requirements, reviewing requirements with developers and stakeholders, performing data reconciliation and testing.
  • Troubleshoot and track data and reporting issues

Required Skills

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years of full-time experience working with data
  • Strong Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables, common formulas, VBA macros and working with large data sets.
  • Ability to write intermediate-level SQL queries to retrieve data (aggregate functions, multiple joins)
  • Experience with Tableau preferred
  • Experience with Trifacta or Alteryx, Python, MS Power Query/BI or other data manipulation and visualization tools a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail; exercise strong quality control over own work
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative environment, as well as the ability to work autonomously
