Position Summary

The Application Delivery Service Network Product Manager role is responsible for maximizing the value for our Network Services product line that include load balancing, traffic management and application delivery controller technologies. Key responsibilities include defining the vision and roadmap for their products, defining, and prioritizing the features/epics in the program backlog, and articulating this to both stakeholders and development teams. This role works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs to ensure they are aligned on priorities. They support and collaborate on financials throughout delivery. They are experts of the products, business or technology domain, and the industry in which the product competes as well as having a deep understanding of the product line financials and forward-looking book of work.

Key Responsibilities Professional Competencies

  • The Application Delivery Services Product Manager is an expert of the products, business or technology domain and the industry for ADC (application delivery controllers)
  • Define the vision and roadmap for ADC based on customer requirements, industry trends, regulations, and the strategic direction for the business or technology domain
  • Define and drive product selection, RFx, etc
  • Ensure alignment across technology and capability roadmaps to achieve portfolio objectives
  • Define and prioritize features/epics in the program backlog
  • Articulate roadmaps and features to both stakeholders and architecture and engineering teams
  • Represent product(s) within network services and to external consumers and stakeholders, e.g., Global Information Security, Finance, Internal Audit / Control Partners, Lines of Business
  • Oversee the budget(s) for their product(s). Support and collaborate with the Senior Technology Executives, Finance and Economic teams on financials throughout delivery
  • Continuously oversee product inventory, performance, risk, and usage metrics, CAPM, error rates, etc. to monitor product health and make product lifecycle recommendations and decisions
  • Accountable for all aspects of the lifecycle, risk, and vulnerability of the ADC products

Required Skills

  • BA or BS in relevant field (e.g., Telecommunications, Information Security, Computer Science), or equivalent working experience
  • 10+ years of experience as an engineer in networks or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience working as a networking subject matter expert in Application Delivery Services (F5 Networks or VMWare / Avi Networks)
  • Ability to produce clear written communications for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver persuasive presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus
  • General knowledge of networking protocols
  • Excellent customer service skills including reporting, organization, written and oral communication and task prioritization
  • Experience in an Agile managed organization using products such as Jira, Kanban, Confluence and Horizon
  • Must have strong program management skills necessary to lead multi-discipline technology teams
  • Must be a highly motivated, self-directed individual capable of supporting multiple large initiatives

Desired Skills

  • 2+ years' experience as a product manager
  • Experience managing a product PL and investment budget
  • Experience setting product prices
  • Experience creating multi-year/multi-generational roadmaps
  • Network and security architecture experience within a large corporation
  • Technical certification/s within the Application Delivery Services space (F5, VMware /Avi, etc.)
